The practice of pharmacy has been in a state of evolution and change throughout the past few decades in all the world. The increase in the number of problems associated with medicines require that pharmacists go beyond the ‘routine’ dispensing characterized by deference to a more patient-centered, focused, and outcome-oriented practice.
This webinar with Dr Nadir Kheir is an extension to a previous webinar with Dr Nadir where we spoke about the technical dispensing process and where we provided a recipe for safe dispensing in the busy community pharmacy environment. In the current session, we will talk about the basic credentials and requirements expected in a pharmacist to provide patient-centered counseling. we will talk about best practice concerning counseling, barriers to counseling, and the overall process.
