We invite physicians, clinical pharmacists and pharmacists to the A pharmacist's guide to OTC hair loss products webinar.

Alopecia or hair loss is a benign treatable disorder which, over time, becomes chronic, affecting a significant fraction of the population. It arises from idiopathic causes, predefined genetic background, and hormonal imbalance. Hair loss is not life threatening, but it is distressing and significantly affects the patient’s quality of life, self-esteem, and social status. The existing treatment regimen for alopecia is inadequate for drug delivery directly to hair follicles to result in continuous hair growth. The challenges are due to multiple-dose regimes and patient non- adherence, where it requires motivated clinical attention.
The pharmacist and physicians can compile and maintain information on all medicines, OTC and non-OTC hair loss product, provide this information as necessary to patients, and use it in promoting the rational use of drugs, by providing advice and explanations to patients.

During this webinar with Dr Talar Ahmad we will outline the pharmacist's and doctor's role in hair loss management, clarify pharmacist guidelines for over-the-counter hair loss products and non- OTC hair loss, characterize patient perceptions of pharmacists and use of prescription and nonprescription therapy in patients care with hair loss.
