Managed care pharmacy uses a number of best practices that offer quality care and cost-effective coverage to patients, payers, employers, and government.. We will be discussing the 4 M’s on how to improve pharmacy managed care for patient reduced cost.

Managed care pharmacy is the practice of developing and applying evidence-based medication use strategies that enhance member and population health outcomes while optimizing health care resources. There are 4 important skill sets for an improved pharmacy managed care program not only for both the evolved environment we now live in and therefore the evolved consumer.

Objectives :

1. We will discuss how pharmacists can get involved in the management of population health and provide patient-centred care as an integral and valuable member of the health care team.

2. Discuss the importance of MTM and all the benefits you should know about to identify and address medication-related problems and medication mismanagement, and help the patient understand proper medication usage.

3. Discuss the use of a proven, clinically effective prescription prior to trying a medication with less evidence of clinical effectiveness or higher cost. Especially with the launch of COVID-19 vaccines.

4. We will be discussing the option of receiving maintenance and medical supplies through the mail, during the pandemic and beyond.
