In this webinar with Dr Sanah Hasan, we will introduce concepts related to administration of drugs to lactating women,  provide appropriate guidance on drug use during breastfeeding and discuss general principles that govern medication transfer to breast milk.

Learning objectives:

  1. Discuss general concepts of medication safety and concerns of medication use related to breastfeeding.
  2. Discuss the FDA lactation information and the changes that were introduced to drug information and labelling that needed to be provided by pharmaceutical companies instead of the old classifications.
  3. Give examples of medication use and their safety in treating various disease states in lactation will be covered.
