We invite physicians, clinical pharmacists and pharmacists to the Antibiotics use in COVID-19 pandemic: complications and possible solutions webinar.

Infection with a new coronavirus is an acute viral disease characterized by a predominant lesion of the respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract. The entrance gate for infection is the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, the infection quickly spreads to the bronchi and lungs. The clinical picture of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is accompanied by symptoms of ARVI. The most dangerous complication of coronavirus infection is pneumonia.

According to WHO recommendations, the fight against drug resistance involves informing all physicians , health care workers, and pharmacists about the rules of rational pharmacotherapy with antibiotics. The task of doctors and pharmaceutical specialists is to correctly inform patients about the basic principles of the rational use of this group of drugs.

Another problem is the ability of  broad-spectrum antibiotics to kill not only pathogenic bacteria, but also the “useful” microorganisms. The intestinal microflora is especially affects the body's natural defense, which is also helps to avoid the development of antibiotic resistance.

During this webinar with Dr Hanan Selim we will discuss the use of antibiotics during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will study the complications of taking anibacterial drugs, and the possible solutions.
