This program designed to clarify, review, and augment the training and understanding of healthcare providers in the use of antibiotics. 

We will cover the major classes of antibiotics including types, coverage, efficacy, differences between generations, side effects, infections and diseases management in details. This CPD course will utilize a discussion of clinical cases and to effectively deliver the course content.

All types of antibiotics will be disscussed including beta lactamases, cephalosporins, glycopeptides, fluroquinolones, aminoglycosides, tetracyclins, and macrolides.

We will take about the antibiotics resistance and how to prevent it, and lastly we will discuss different diseases that can be treated by antibiotics.

Introduction of Antibiotics and Basics of Microbiology

During this lecture we will discuss the defenition of antibiotics, the discovery of the first antibiotic, classification of different type of antibiotics, understanding characteristics of antibiotics including spectrum of activity, adverse effect, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, clinical use of each antibiotic.

After the end of this topic you will be able to choose a proper antibiotic for any infections.

Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics of antibiotics

During this lecture we will discuss the testing to illustrate pharmacodynamics of antibiotics, and differentiate between  bactericidal and bacteriostatic antibiotics.

Mechanisms of action of antibiotics and antibiotics classifications

During this lecture we will discuss the mechanism of action of antibiotics, the different classes of antibiotics, and the mode of action of cell wall inhibitor antibiotics.

Antibiotics classifications part 2

During this lecture we will discuss the most common classes of antibiotics, what they are generally used for and some of the potential side effects.
